Which kind of books sells better online-rare first editions or expensive educational books?
kaasis asked:
So my new part time occupation is to source expensive books which are underpriced and then to list them on eBay and other main selling sites for their market price. Currently I’m focused on looking for first editions but wouldn’t be better to sell books which has a value due to it’s content rather than status of being first edition? The problem with collectable books is that people sometimes cannot determine the condition of books just by looking on few pictures and description and therefore driving down the prices online. However the condition is not that important when looking for rare educational books therefore online selling would be more appropiate for them. Yet, in my experience, it is hard to source first editions for cheap price as sellers already know the value of first edition or it won’t be stated that book is first edition and end up unsold. Any remarks from people which operating in this business?
PS. I mainly want to source books online and sell them online.
