Trying to decide if I have rare books?
I have a set of the Works of Edgar Allan Poe which consits of 10 green hardback books with gold writing and design on the binder. These books are published by Harper & Brothers Publishers and do not have any dates as far as copyrights or ISBN numbers.
The first book table of contents consit of but not limited to:
Preface to the 1849 Edition by Maria Clemm
Edgar Allan Poe by James Russell Lowell,
Death of Edgar Allan Poe by N. P. Willis
Memoir of the Author
The Unparalleled Adventure of one Hans Pfaall
The Gold bug
The Ballon-Hoax, etc.
I also a a collection of other books with copyright dates in the early 1900’s late 1800 by Shakespare. I am trying to find someone who could tell me what these books are worth or at least give me the name of someone th in the Chicagoland area that can give me an appriasal.
